Weekend DIY...Pumpkin Fairy House

October is here, and you know what that means? Everything pumpkin! And of course my personal favorite...decorating them! As much as I love to carve a good ol'e fashion Jack-o-lantern, we all know that they don't last more than a week. So, this fall, I decided to create a little something magical that will last the entire month, if not longer...a pumpkin fairy house!

1. First, let's start with what type of pumpkin to get. The smaller the better, and to make it even more unique a white, green, or pink pumpkin are the cutest. I went with a white one that I found at Giant Eagle's Market District.

2. Head out into your back yard, and scoop up a few sticks. Be sure to break them down to make sure that they are small enough to design your door.

3. When creating your door, you are going to need a few more items. Michaels has the best deals (always a 40% off Regular Price coupon available), and the cutest touches. I have managed to stalk up on a lot of this stuff with my other tiny creations, but here is a list & links for things you might need to get started...

Glue Gun

Reindeer Moss

Mini River Rocks

Paper Leaves

Gold Glitter

4. Now this is the fun part! Using your imagination to create the front door to your little, fairy house. I used the sticks as the actual door, and created a frame of rocks and moss.

5. This darling bouquet of wild flowers was sadly drying up, so instead of tossing them, I decided to use them as part of my DIY! Decorate as much or as little as you'd like. There is no right or wrong way to create your tiny home. Scroll down to see my ordinary pumpkin turned magical!

Happy Decorating!
