Tomboy Chic

The Modern Cafe, located on the North Side of Pittsburgh, was the back-drop for my last photoshoot. This local bar has been a place for Yinzers to kick back, and enjoy a few beers. The Modern, is a place where the owners, and  barkeeps know their customers by name, and often times their favorite orders.

The low lighting, and old-school interiors provide the perfect place to chill with friends. I urge you all to go, order one of their award-winning sandwiches and wash it down with an ice-cold beer...or two!

My inspiration for this shoot came for my love of all things boyfriend. Boyfriend jeans, blazers, sweaters, if it begins with boyfriend, I'm obsessed with it.

I let my inner tomboy shine through, and styled several different ways to wear my favorite menswear inspired pieces. I found that the key to creating a chic masculine look was to pair my boyfriend pieces with something feminine, like a skinny jean, a heeled loafer, or a sassy lip color.

I even threw in some glitz and glam, and a little bit of leopard to help make the darker pieces pop with a girly flare. And of course, I dared to be different by truly bringing out my Tomboy Chic, with a chambray bow tie and suspenders! I mean, who says the boys get to have all the fun?
